first sale down

Mood Index for October – 7.5/10

The index was dragged down by work in the office, what else?

----------------------------------

If you were there at Room G4 at Gallery Hotel yesterday afternoon, thank you. Glad you could drop by.

It was a learning experience for us. The turnout was satisfactory, and the response was encouraging. All my friends were there. So were my sister’s friends. It was like a big bloody gathering! Would have been even more fun if I weren’t so sick with flu.

Stupid flu bug. Made me miss a party on Saturday night, then downed my fun on Sunday afternoon. One thing good though. I’m off work for the next two days. The doctor decided I shouldn’t go spreading the virus around. Yay, sleep glorious sleep.
Bliss!

Oh. And I need to thank these people…
:: My fantastic brother Calvin, for single-handedly setting up the whole place for us; then complaining about how boring it was; then playing warcraft on the laptop for half the afternoon.
:: My other sis Karyn, for manning the cashier.
:: Corrine, for arriving at 1pm despite partying the night before; entertaining those people neglected by me; and staying till the very end.
:: Mao, for coming down to lend some much-needed moral support.
:: Wee Chuan, for coming down to shop for presents; and his constant call to “let’s go smoke!”
:: Wee Keng, for his words of encouragement; his one attempt at a sales pitch (to joycelyn); and helping to pack up.
:: And last but not least, Hugo. For being the gentlest critic of the AEON site; for designing all the flyers; for being my test platform for all the emails; for being my punching bag when I was stressed up over the sale; for hackling all his friends to turn up; for turning up late for setting up(!); for quickly redeeming himself by connecting my ipod to the sound system; for dressing up; for buying coffee for my parents; for helping to pack up; for being my rock.

Thank you all.

Anyway. The next sale gonna be bigger, better, noisier!

Lyrics time…
This is quite a good apology song. Just in case you ever need to dedicate something like this to anyone…

We write to apologize.
We ask to look past life as it goes by.
I know you have sacrificed time,
life, love, time to fly.
Please consider all things trite,
forgiveness will be the thing that gets us by.
I know to have something like this
broken is hard to fix.

Embers, we're burning bridges down.
Envelopes stuffed with feelings found.
To write this down as means to reconcile.

We write to patch things up,
maybe not to agree but to proclaim love.
Let's look ahead and then we'll see the one
whose glory never ends.
And based on that we'll see,
there'll be room for change, but gradually.
I know to have something like thisbroken is hard to fix.

If all is said and done and over,
if we don't have to, we're not going to.
Make the change, it's worth the try.
What's broken can be fixed tonight.
