6/365: Change coming

It would appear that the move is firm and the new destination confirmed. Meeting the new big boss for the first time today was a jittery moment. Expectations appear to be quite high, effectively raising the stress level for the new position.

Time will pass very quickly this quarter. Good luck to me!

5/365: News to me

Today I learnt something about myself that I never knew. It is not life-shattering, but it does answer a few nagging questions.

4/365: Back to class

While the impetus is still there, I decided to just lay down the money for the class. It's been way too long since I picked up anything new. I need to get the brain juice going, but not with anything too taxing yet. The end result is going back to class to learn a new language, but I am almost embarrassed to say that the new language is not as glam as French which was taken up a few years back. It is the very "ahjumma" language from the Republic of Korea.

I want to be able to read the words on the screen when I watch KBS World and there are no subtitles.

How utterly mortifying to admit that. Heh.

3/365: First work day of the year

First work day of the year and counting down to the last day of the first quarter.

2/365: Honesty

I wonder, if it is still possible to still honestly reflect my thoughts online.

Trust, is just a luxury nowadays.

1/365: Hello.

One post for every day of the year - it was a relatively popular practice the year that just passed. By the time I discovered the trend, it was too late to get on the bandwagon. Next year, I thought, and all too soon that "next year" has come round.

It's been a long while since I wrote regularly. I kinda suspect that it's going to be difficult to do 365 posts. But it's worth a try, if nothing at all then to retain memories of random observations and the occasional strange and warped thoughts, like those twitter entries I made when on holidays.

For posterity, let's get it on.

new look

Not quite sure if revamping the blog will make me want to write more, but trying it anyway.

It looks weird, I thought, like any of the one million and one blogs out there. Are the new blogger templates harder to customize? Otherwise it would be because my limited html knowledge is really outdated now. Plus of course the comments are all gone now, due to the bloody haloscan-echo episode.

I guess I will continue to tweak it until I'm happy with it. Then perhaps I will feel the urge to start writing again. Hmmm.

quote of the day #070510

It is difficult to speak adequately or justly of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or cheerful, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent.

quote(s) of the day #110410

Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.

By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show.

- Samuel Johnson
