It is an old belief that spirits return to look for their loved ones in the form of a large moth (in some cases, a large beetle). They are usually seen during the funerals, or during anniversary days, stopping at random places, as if looking down on the living.
I strongly believe in this.
I have seen huge moths at all my grandparents' funerals, and during their death anniversaries. Big moths that seem to come out of nowhere.
