The little picture that appears with some web addresses is called a favicon. It's a little vanity symbol for websites for which the generic IE logo is not good enough.
Two plus years after launching the aeon site, I finally put our logo next to the web address. It's so small you can hardly make it out, but for some strange reason it tickles me to no end.
