Dali works on show

Up to 40 artworks by celebrated Surrealist master Salvador Dali will be on
show - and on sale - in Singapore for the first time next month.
Five of the pieces are monumental public sculptures - including the iconic
melting watch, The Profile of Time, and Alice in Wonderland - which will be
placed in Orchard Road and the Boat Quay area for a month from Sept 13.
Dali's gallery-sized sculptures and painting will be exhibited in the Opera
Gallery in Ngee Ann City.
Dali, who was born in Spain in 1904 and moved to Paris in 1929, was a
master of bizarre and fantastic images. He died in 1989.
Artworks by other modern masters, such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri
Matisse, Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso, will also be shown in the gallery.
Mr Stephane Le Pelletier, the gallery's Asia Pacific director, said the entire
collection, including the pieces not by Dali, is worth US$60 million.

Take me, I am the drug; take me, I am hallucinogenic.
